About the Owner
Augusta has always been a lover of all things clothing, jewelry & fashion. As a child she fashioned dresses out of paper for her dolls and was always very opinionated about what she would wear and often times insisted she pick out clothes for herself. As she grew older she swapped her dolls for customers and began working in the retail industry as a wardrobe stylist and assistant swimwear designer at the age of 18. She later went on to attend fashion school where she graduated with her Bachelors in Fashion Merchandising. Augusta continued her career working for a very well known company URBN under the Free People brand and it was her 9 years there that she learned everything from merchandising, to product fabrications, to her love for styling customers. However, Augusta always dreamed of more and owning her own small business was the ultimate end-goal and that is how Boho Byrd Co. was born. The business would start off small-Augusta would sell her Native American treasures she collected from her travels on her lunch breaks in the mall to some of her favorite clients. Then a few years later her husband would gift her a 1970 VW bus, the hippie in her had always dreamed of owning one. She took the next steps to make her business more real and started to do local pop-up shops out of the bus where in addition to her Native American Jewelry she sold a curated line of clothing focusing on linens and cotton-gauze materials and even a select few homewares she sourced locally. After a handful of pop-up shops Augusta wanted to reach a larger audience so she worked to create this website in an effort to cater to all of her treasured customers around the world.
